Secondary 2 Design Thinking Programme

On 20 and 21 March, our Secondary 2 students participated in the Secondary 2 Design Thinking Workshop which was co-organised with Singapore Polytechnic. The lecturers from Singapore Polytechnic partnered our teachers to facilitate the sessions. The Secondary 2 students embarked on a 2-day design challenge to re-design the areas in our community. This included West Coast Park and Teban Gardens. On the first day, they went to these areas to observe the environment and interviewed some users. They gathered their data and proceeded to create Personas and User Journey Maps to gain empathy for their target groups. On the second day, the students used affinity diagrams to brainstorm and come up with ideas to help their users. They made many interesting prototypes with recycled materials in order to convey their ideas in a physical form. The workshop culminated with the user feedback session where guests from Nparks and NEA gave their feedback to their ideas.
